About David Zirschky

The issues that bring people to court are complex and personal: likewise, each client is unique and deserves individualized care.  No matter the issue, David Zirschky offers respectful attention to every client, while seeking custom-tailored results.

David is a graduate of the University of Maine School of Law and is licensed to practice in Maine.  In 2018, David was named as one of Maine’s Top 10 Attorneys Under 40 by the National Academy of Criminal Defense Attorneys.  He has been a junior member Maine’s prestigious Gignoux Inn of Court since 2016, and has twice been recognized by the Maine Supreme Court as Katahdin Counsel for his pro bono work.  Prior to starting his own firm in 2016, David co-counseled criminal cases including multiple homicides and gross sexual assaults.

Even before becoming a member of the bar, David practiced as a student attorney with the Cumberland Legal Aid Clinic where he earned the nationally recognized CALI award for his work in Family Law.

While a significant portion of David’s practice is devoted to criminal and juvenile defense, David also handles a variety of non-criminal matters including Protection From Abuse and Harassment (PFA/PFH), landlord-tenant disputes, traffic violations, small claims matters, and post-judgment divorce modifications.

David understands that most attorney’s fees are often unrealistic and impossible for ordinary folks to afford.  Court cases take an emotional toll on clients, and that shouldn’t be exacerbated by financial strain.  To make things a little easier, David is happy to negotiate reasonable fees and payment plans with all of his clients.
